Derrick & Rachael’s Hot Air Balloon Engagement

When Derrick contacted me to photograph his proposal to Rachael, the plan he described was one of the best I’ve heard. They came to Kelowna to celebrate their anniversary and as an “anniversary gift” he woke her up at 5:00am, surprising her with a Hot Air Balloon ride. I was disguised as a fellow passenger, so she had no idea I was actually there to photograph her! ;) Prior to take off, they got a chance to go inside the balloon while it was inflating – where he asked the question and dropped to one knee! So romantic! A special thank you to John and Joy of Okanagan Ballooning for being so accommodating. And thank you Derrick and Rachael for allowing me to document this special occasion.
